Our New M.S.I. Children's Computer
Here is a picture of our new M.S.I. Children's computer. affectionately named "Missy". This standalone computer allows kids to play educational games, search a built in encyclopedia, and do other school, and educational activities. The computer is unique in that it has the standard mouse, and keyboard setup, but is also a touch screen as well. Very young children can "play" on the computer with built in programs for their age without having to manipulate a keyboard and mouse to do so. We invested in this system so that young people could explore in a safe, and educational way. Next time you bring little ones to the library let them see what "Missy" can do.
A note from Mindy:
Our goal in the Children's Library is to provide a
fun, entertaining environment where children can let their curiosity soar, and
their imagination take flight!
Our bright and colorful children's area is designed to welcome kids of all ages
to explore the joy of reading and learning. A wide variety of books are
available for all reading levels including easy readers, picture books, fiction
and non-fiction titles, junior level, young adult books and reference
materials. In addition, children's magazines, books on CD, games, puzzles, and
a children computer station are available to enjoy.
Throughout the year a number of special programs and events
are held in the Children's Library, including our Summer Reading Program and
the wonderful Story Time held for preschoolers and home schooled children
during the school months.
