Here is the place to find out what events and programs we offer here at the Oxford Public Library. We want to be a place that is something more than what the standard Library is thought to be. We want to be the cultural center of the community, and bring to all of our patrons programs, events, and opportunities that make a difference. We strive to offer something for everyone. From preschoolers to adults. We are very proud of our Annual, and Special programs through the year. Below are just a few of the programs we offer.
Click on the calendar to the left to access our Library calendar of events. We update regularly so check it out often for the latest info.
Outreach Programs
Below are just a few of the programs that we have brought to the community over the past year. We are excited to bring such talented performers here to Benton County to give the youth in our area the opportunity to see entertainment they might not otherwise ever experience. Here are just a few people that have shared their talents with us with the links to their websites so you can get better acquainted with them.
Jeff Saturday
Spring 2011
Benton Central High School staff and students were treated
to a visit by Colts Center Jeff Saturday on April 13, 2011. Mr. Saturday held a
captive audience as he shared his personal story of success and leadership and
answered question from a panel of 25 students.
He ended the program with meeting students and signing autographs. The event was made possible by the Benton
Community Foundation, NIPSCO, Oxford Public Library, Benton County Public
Library, Boswell Public Library, and Earl Park Public Library
Johnathan Rand
Benton County Elementary students attended a convocation on
Friday, May 13, 2011 with Michigan author Johnathan Rand. Rand’s suspenseful series, American Chillers,
is very popular with our students. Rand
shared his personal story of becoming an author and positively reinforced the
message of determination for success.
The event was sponsored by the Benton Community Foundation, Fowler Ridge Wind Farm, Oxford Public
Library, Benton County Public Library, Boswell Public Library and Earl Park
Public Library.
